Moving right along...approximately 1:36 (or maybe it was 1:45ish-you get the idea) I entered the parking lot of the children's school...very unsuspecting if you will.
Very Unsuspecting.
As I walked to the front office...I rattled off the anticipated conversation with the school attendant that I would soon be in contact with and in my head it went something like this:
School attendant: Oh, Hi Ms. Frame...you are looking lovely today...my how you always manage to look so pulled together.
Me: Oh, thank you (add school attendant name here-might have been Cindy)...that is so kind of you!
School attendant: How can I help you today?
Me:Well, (heart will undoubtedly pick up the pace here as I am realizing that I am a horrible liar), I need to get my 3 kiddos from school?
School attendant:Are they coming back or are they leaving for the day?
Me: (Thinking to myself:uh...what's with all the questions, I mean really!) Well, (HERE COMES THE LIE) we have a Doctor's Appointment (classic lie, huh?) and they will not be returning to school this afternoon.
School Attendant: Oh, okay...I just need the classrooms of the children....blah blah blah....
Me: Holy Sheesh...I did it...again! No one suspects a thing..
Okay...that's how it's supposed to go right...well, I get into the office and Landon's teacher is right there...she greets me a hello and asks what I am doing there? I stumbled over my words and murmured something about an appointment and then she kind of gave me a "look" and offered to go get Landon from PE. Score. One down and two to go.
I can see from the corner of my eye...the school principal...if I don't make eye contact, everything should go according to plan. This is the part where I really sealed in my lie...I signed the book to take the children out early and wrote 3 times for 3 children...Doctors Appointment.
That's a big bad lie...(must repent for this later).
Everything is going according to plan.
Until Mikey walks in the office without backpack and jacket and asks why we are leaving and who the doctor appointment is for...will there be shots involved and are we coming back to school...I thought about changing the plan a little and leaving Mikey at the school. Okay...after 20 questions, he was off to get his belongings.
Now...2 down and little Morgan to go....My little lovely came skipping along and asked the same q's that Mikey just drilled me with...so I did what any mother in this situation would do and I ignored her until we got to the car.
Made it to the car...told the kiddos that In n Out was calling and mama was treating everyone to a chocolate shake...only if they promised to never mention this to their teachers...ever.
And this was the day that I lied to the school.
