2 things I cannot do...

There are two things that I have vowed to never do in this life of mine...

...I have taken the sacred vow to never carry a knock-off hand bag, never to wear a pair of jeans that weren't authentic, never to look through a pair of sunglasses that weren't the real deal nor anything of the like...I just can't bring myself to do it people. This may be a small simple minded issue to most...but it is my issue and I am totally okay with it!

It also brings me to the other that I cannot or will not ever do and that is to buy an artificial Christmas tree and put it in our home.

I understand why the people around me choose to have the artificial tree (I use the term "tree"lightly) in their home...it's convenient and easy to snap together...you don't have to fuss with the after Christmas needle clean up and risk clogging the vacuum...and let's be honest...the safety issue of not having the "tree" die out and become a fire hazard makes for a pretty strong argument.

I get all of that.

Still...I just cannot let my children pull their Christmas tree out of a box and "snap it together"...I cannot have my family miss out on the traditional experience of going to the Christmas tree lot (even if it is at The Home Depot) to search and search for the perfect tree... sap and all...and when our family tree is placed in our home by Mr. Clark...the fragrance of the fresh needles is so wonderful and so aromatic that it will be the talk of the house for at least the next 4 maybe even 5 days. I love the tradition of the live tree so much and I want that to be passed to my kids and someday to their kids. So for this girl...I vow to never buy an artificial Christmas tree...you read it here!!

I heart real life Christmas trees and that is that!

Cute post- I just stumbled across your blog - it's really nice and fun. I am with you on the knock-off thing. While I have an issue spending $400 or so on bag (when I have a child to put through school), I have a bigger issue buying a knockoff - my feeling is the someone just like you or me designed their merchandise -it's a part of them and to buy a knock off is just the same as stealing, in my book. The Christmas tree is a different thing - I would love to have a real tree but the ease of the artificial one that we got last year (complete with lights) can't be beat. But I have to say that I feel a bit guilty. :)
