So here we are...Life on Decatur Street. This marks the first official post from our ,what is intended to be, happy little blog. I have spent countless hours on various blogs when I should have been doing laundry or baking cookies or something other than reading about others and their lives. Then it hit me. I decided to become a blogger myself. This is a new world to me and I might take it in a little slower than the rest, so please just be patient until I get the hang of all of this. Thank you.
I think a little background and updating is in order since this is the first official post (I can't believe that I have a post)!
I live on Decatur Street with my best friend and future hubby to be, Mr. Clark. Yes, he does have a first name and it is Scott, however, I find it a little fun and frankly a little sexy to refer to him as Mr. Clark. (side note: Mr. Clark does not entirely appreciate it when I do refer to him as Mr. Clark,"That's what people call my dad!" is his understandable reaction to my whim). We have sort of (in my book anyway) compromised and I call him the pet names like honey, baby, babe, sweetie and a few others that might embarrass my mother if she were to ever read this, and I reserve the Mr. Clark for story telling with friends and family. Now, I hope we are all clear on this.
In our humble home we also have my 3 children...Mikey who is 11 and trying desperately to have me refer to him as Mike (too old for Mikey I guess), Morgan who is now 8 and Landon who is the ever into everything and has a question about everything is 5. These are my children from my first marriage...ugh...I hate that phrase...my first marriage.
Now, our house grows with children every Wednesday and every third weekend when Mr. Clark's children come to stay with us. On these days, we have Justine who is 16 and driving (look out), Kali who is a schmidge from turning 14, Elisa who is at the ripe old age of 13 and Trevor at a solid 9 yeas old. Yes friends, we are the modern day Brady Bunch....only I don't have an Alice to keep my house tidy...or a ginormous station wagon for that matter.
All of this and we also house our dog Mandy, 2 cats Milo and Lucy and 2 turtles, Shelby and Lucky...moment of silence for we lost Mr. Turtle last week to some sort of mystery turtle illness.
This is the Life on Decatur Street...it's loud and it's chaotic and I wouldn't change it for the world.
